BENS members had a dinner engagement with Sarah Morgenthau, the State Department’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs. The office is pivotal in advancing trade, commercial, and economic policies to benefit American workers and communities. Ms. Morgenthau talked about how her team makes sure the private sector is heard in foreign policy discussions on important regional concerns and top global priorities, such as boosting the international competitiveness of American businesses, de-risking our supply chains, and tackling development obstacles. She collaborates with allies in the U.S. government to address everything from information access barriers to regulatory requirements in order to provide an even playing field for American companies doing business overseas.
