Conversation on Building Effective Cyber Innovation Programs

This hybrid event welcomes participants to join the conversation virtually — or in person at the BENS office in Washington, D.C., where we will host a small lunch at 11:30 a.m. ET before the discussion begins (12 p.m. ET).

As quantum computing advances, so does its potential to disrupt current cybersecurity systems. Join BENS for a hybrid discussion featuring Maj. Gen. (ret.) Neil Hersey, former Deputy Commanding General – Operations, U.S. Army Cyber Command, and Commanding General, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, as we explore the challenges and opportunities to build effective innovation programs that address emerging national security threats.

A national strategy to mitigate cyber threats will require investment in workforce training and sustained collaboration across industry, government, and academia. Building upon our recent edition of BENS Member Insights: The Cybersecurity Workforce Gap, this conversation will explore how to apply readiness frameworks to emerging quantum-era cybersecurity strategies—and how industry and educational partnerships can shape the future cyber workforce.Maj. Gen. Hersey brings a unique perspective on designing coordinated cybersecurity initiatives that empower the next generation of cyber professionals. His leadership roles have been instrumental in shaping U.S. cyber policy and readiness. Today, he continues to support the advancement of AI and quantum technologies through advisory roles with leading companies.
