Please join BENS President and CEO, retired Army General Joseph Votel, as he hosts a virtual discussion Tuesday, February 21st on upcoming space mission Polaris Dawn with BENS New York member Jared Isaacman, CEO of Shift4. This will be Jared’s second spaceflight.
No earlier than March 2023, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Polaris Dawn mission from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Dragon spacecraft and Polaris Dawn crew will spend up to five days in orbit endeavoring to reach the highest Earth orbit ever flown, attempting the first commercial spacewalk, conducting health impact research, and testing Starlink laser-based communications.
Polaris Dawn, the first of up to three spaceflights in the Polaris Program, endeavors to rapidly advance human spaceflight capabilities by demonstrating new technologies and conducting extensive scientific research to expand the knowledge of humans adapting, living and working in space. The 38 selected projects from 23 partner institutions are designed to advance both human health on Earth and on future long-duration spaceflights.
Jared Isaacman is the CEO of Shift4 (NYSE: FOUR), the leader in integrated payment processing solutions. He is an accomplished pilot rated to fly commercial and military aircraft and was the commander of Inspiration4, the world’s first all-civilian mission to space.
