Lunch with Ambassador Robin L. Dunnigan
June 20, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EDT

AMB Dunnigan will discuss the Kremlin-inspired “foreign influence” legislation, which, despite United States condemnation, has recently advanced in the Georgian Parliament. Members of the Georgian ruling party have been clear that the law’s intent is to silence critical voices and destroy Georgia’s vibrant civil society, which serves as a critical check on government in any democratic nation.
The United States has had a strong partnership with Georgia since 1992 and has spent more than $6 billion in assistance, consistently supporting the development of Georgia’s governing institutions, from its military to its government, its regulatory bodies, and free and fair elections.
