join us for what promises to be a great discussion with Dr. Montgomery McFate on Wednesday, August 23rd from 11:30 am – 1:30 at the Buckhead Club (3344 Peachtree Rd. NE, #2600, Atlanta, GA 30326. Dr. McFate has worked in various positions with the Us Government, DoD, and other government and non-profit organizations over the years. As an anthropologist, she brings a unique view to the table, which helped her work with the US Army to develop the Army’s Human Terrain System (HTS) and see it through implementation. Dr. McFate will speak to us about her work with the HTS as well as about her forthcoming book, Dr. Seuss & National Security (Rowman Littlefield, 2023). This is yet another great event that you don’t want to miss out on! Spaces are limited, and all RSVPs will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dr. Montgomery ‘Mitzy’ McFate is a professor at the US Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Formerly, she was the Senior Social Scientist for the US Army’s Human Terrain System, which she helped develop from a ‘good idea’ to a $150 million-dollar-a-year Army program. She has held positions at RAND and the Institute for Defense Analyses, and the US Navy’s Office of Naval Research, where she was awarded a Distinguished Public Service Award by the Secretary of the Navy.
