Brian Golden
Chief Programs Officer
Brian leads efforts to shape initiatives, production, and partnership activities among more than 400 BENS members, the DC-based staff, and strategic partners. His three Vice Presidents coordinate closely with the seven regional teams across the nation to support the strategic goals of both new and existing members, aligning them with the national security priorities of the United States, its allies, and partners. His team’s efforts extend beyond the Department of Defense, supporting national security initiatives within the Departments of Commerce, State, Treasury, and Energy. By convening leaders from the Executive Branch with BENS members, they provide a business practitioner’s perspective to complex and critical issues.
Brian is a highly decorated, retired United States Air Force senior leader with unique operational and strategic leadership experience, most recently focused on continuity of operations and continuity of government within the Executive Branch. Before his work with the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and the White House, he spent considerable time addressing strategic policy issues related to the implementation and command and control of nuclear forces, including dual-use capabilities.
Brian is also a senior policy expert on European and NATO-related issues, having led NATO efforts on space domain operations, counter-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, conventional force structure, global partnerships, and defense spending.
