David McDonald is President of the McDonald-Anderson Foundation, Inc.; a member of the Board of Overseers of the Hoover Institution, and a Board member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS). He completed his MA degree in Security Studies at Georgetown University in July 2018 with course work emphasis on Terrorism and conflict in the Middle East region. Prior to retirement in 2017 he was the Vice President of Noble Energy Mexico, an affiliate of Noble Energy, Inc. Previously he managed Noble’s Joint Venture in Israel, where Noble’s natural gas discoveries and developments now provide 75% of Israel’s fuel for electricity and export revenue.

Mr. McDonald has over 20 years of experience in petroleum exploration and production and has held management positions with ConocoPhillips, Maersk Oil, and Hunt Oil and specialized in negotiating petroleum agreements with governments and oil companies. He led Hunt’s entry into Kurdistan, Iraq and was its first Country Manager there in 2007. Additional degrees include an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MS in Geology from the University of Tennessee, and a BS from Vanderbilt University.

He resides in Vero Beach, Florida with his wife, Barbara. They have five children, Tracy (33), Morgan (30), Danielle (29), Lindsey (29), and Jeffrey (29).
