Nick Hatcher

Nick is the Director of Initiatives at Business Executives for National Security (BENS). In this role, he leads the design and execution of innovative projects that enable government partners to tackle complex challenges by leveraging the unique expertise and perspectives of BENS members.

Nick began his career on the professional staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he supported the Airland and Seapower Subcommittees. He later played a key role in establishing the Army Applications Laboratory under Army Futures Command in Austin, Texas. The lab’s mission is to inform requirements and accelerate the adoption of advanced capabilities from the commercial sector and startup ecosystem to address critical military needs.

Most recently, Nick supported business development for an early-stage dual-use startup focused on collaborative digital engineering ecosystems in the aerospace and defense industry.

Born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, Nick now resides in Reston, Virginia, with his fiancée and their yellow Labrador, Jasper.
